2010 in Pictures!

This has been an exciting year full of lots of adventure, however, I am sure next year will bring even more!

This year I got to go on my first big adventure.... I went to China and spent 5 months teaching English, it was wonderful and I hope many other adventures like this are in my near future!

Only 3 days after returning home from China I was off on another adventure I had always wanted to go on... I went and spent a week backpacking through Philmont! :) I was lucky enough to go with my cousin Bethany!

My cousin Kelly and his family live in Atlanta, Georgia so we only see them a few times a year. Last year I spent a week in Georgia with them, this year they came to Utah and I was lucky enough to be home to see them!!

I have had the dream of cutting down a tree for a long time!! Mike Jensen helped fulfill this wish and certified me in chainsaw safety and then off I went to cutting down my first tree!!

Bethany has been trying to get me to swim the mile and camp for a LONG time, I finally swam it the last week of camp... procrastination? Yes! but at least I did it!

I learned a lot of new skills, like how to use a hand saw and nail gun and I got to help build the new rifle range!

I went on a wilderness campout with my best friend Michelle and we built our first shelter together, it worked extremely well!! :)

For part of my awards I earned in Venturing I had to catch food and prepare it! After several failed attempts I finally caught my first fish!

We went on our annual trip to the fair!

One of my Best Friends Bradi Jones got married!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I got to spend it with some of my favorite people! It was an amazing Halloween!

Michelle, Brittany and I attended our first annual Ski Burning Bonfire, a sacrifice to the Snow Gods... In attempts to find it we ran into Dracula's Castle!

I finished my first ever Caligraphy Piece!

I went to the jazz game with my friends!

I turned 21!

I earned the Ranger award for Venturing along with the two top awards the gold and silver!

We got to meet Kristal at the airport after returning home from a semester in Hawaii! We also met Elder L. Tom Perry!

I was able to celebrate my 21st birthday with my best friends and go to the Gallivan Center for the first time!

My friends and I have kept up our sleepover tradition! We have been having sleepovers since we were 5!!

Family Time!

This week my sister and her husband came down to spend some time with our family!! We spent a few days together just playing!! We went to the zoo- acting like we were little children, the aquarium, the planetarium and to crystal hot springs in a blizzard- i love hot tubing in the snow!! We also played a lot of mario brothers on the wii(pretty much all I have done the past week :D) It was fun to be with all my family!!

Those would be birds behind us... Our family has recently become obsessed with birds :)

It has been a fun winter break!!

They're Back!! :)

A few weeks ago Kyle Spackman and Kendell Coburn returned home from their missions! It has been fun to have them back especially during this time of year!!

21st Birthday Bash!!

For mine and Kristals 21st birthdays we had a slumber party at a hotel in Salt Lake!! Kristal had only been home from Hawaii for a few days, so it was fun to spend time with the 4 of us!! :)
We took the frontrunner down with all of our bags and backpacks and looked slightly like hobos!! :D

After traveling around on public transportation and wandering the streets lost we finally found our hotel and went out for dinner!!

The best part of the night was going to the Gallivan Center! None of us had been there before and it was a blast!! :) I now LOVE the idea of ice skating in the snow!

It has been awhile since any of us have been iceskating, we were a little rusty... Surprisingly nobody fell!!

We heard there was hot chocolate in the lobby... Kristal and I were on this fast. This is us being goofs on our way to get some!!

Hot Chocolate is one of the best things ever, especially when it is in a mug! Even better when that mug is orange!! :)

The rest of the night was just crazy!

We told each others fortunes!

We had pillow fights!

And even became professionals at doing flips! :) Brittany's face at the end is the best!

My Venturing Court of Honor!

December 5th I had my court of honor for receiving three of the top venturing awards :) My Ranger, which is the outdoors award- I had to do wilderness campouts, go rockclimbing, learn CPR, catch a fish and many more exciting adventures!! The Silver is the very top award and then right under is the gold- I had to do conservation projects, service hours, serve as a venturing leader and much more!!
My Court of Honor was a very fun night and turned out better than anything I could have asked for!
Jeremy Bell spoke, and did an amazing job. I have worked with him since I was 14 and he has been a very big part of my scouting experience.

Philip Eborn was my first director at Camp Bartlett, however, he was unable to attend that night. He did send a letter and had my brother read it to me! Philip Eborn and my brother are both influences in my life and have helped make me the person I am today.

Lloyd Peterson is my Venturing Advisor and helped push and encourage me to earn my awards. I definitely could not have done this without him!

My dad pinning my award on me, he helped me with almost every requirement. He taught me to rockclimb, took me fishing, went on a wilderness campout with me! I am thankful that my parents encouraged me to work at Camp Bartlett and become a more well rounded individual!
