Ever since i was little I have made a plan, which usually includes about 10 years ahead in life! It's a curse of my OCD :) However, lately I have been feeling as though I have gone down a different path, taken different turns, decisions my 15 year old self would not have seen coming. I worry a lot about if what I am doing is best for me, if this is what will make me truly happy.
In church on Sunday my relief society president read us this story and i felt it went perfect with my life.
Welcome to Holland by Emily Perl Kingsley.
Most people go through life with wonderful exciting plans they hope to fulfill, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting. After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy." But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay. The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place. So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met. It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts. But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss. But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland.
The plans and decisions I have made were what I thought was my Plan A, but I currently feel as though I am living plan B. However, because I have turned to my Heavenly Father and prayed about the paths I should be taking- It's wonderful to know that all along my plan B has his been his plan A.

5K Training Day 1
My dad and I decided in January that we were going to prepare for a 5K, neither of us have really been into running... so a 5K is kind of a big deal :)
Well... school got in the way and not a single day since January have I gone running until today!!
Hannah was feeling very energetic so we went for a 1 1/2 mile run!! Let's just say I need lots of training before I can make it 3 miles.
My all time goal is to do a triathalon, but I figured I better atleast get the running part down first!!!
I am excited to keep training and hopefully I can run the 5k run at the end of July!

Don't Drive Blind
This entire semester I have been working on a campaign project for my social marketing class. We had to write up an entire campaign, commercials, radio adds, we met with focus groups of our target audience. It has been quite the task. We chose to promote the importance of not text messaging while driving. Our campaign is call Don't Drive Blind: TXT or DRV; Not Both. I created a blog for the campaign- here is the link;

we also have a facebook page which you can get to from this link

We made two commercials which I am pretty proud of. Kristal and my Dad you got to be guests in the video... hope you don't mind :D Here is one of them, you can see the other on the blog or the Facebook page
Here is our logo/ bumper sticker.
The project is almost done and will probably total 75 pages. I figured since we did all this work I might as well show it off and maybe have some impact with our campaign!

In Memory of...
It's official my i-pod which was also Amanda's all the way through high school has finally bit the dust. No life left in it, as much as I want to deny it, I have to admit that it's officially dead.
I decided to dedicate this blog post to it, I know I'm weird :) I decided to post my top 5 most listened to songs! Don't judge me for what I love :D
I love Celine Dion, my best friend Kristal showed me this song in high school and I still think it's beautiful :) They sang it on Glee and actually did it justice! I also love that the lyrics for this video are in another language!
I love this song by Taylor Swift! I liked her new cd but it was kinda depressing, but I love this song
I have always LOVED the Wicked soundtrack... however, ever since we went I have been extra obsessed. This is my favorite song from the play.
I blame the last song on Amanda and Andrea! Pretty sure we listened to this song 3 or 4 times a day the entire time we were in China! Because of those 5 months I think it will forever be in my top 5 listened to. I'm glad we were able to get our friend Joey to learn it on the guitar for us!

Basketball!!
One of the best parts of Utah State has to be the basketball games!! I love how excited the crowd gets and all the fun crazy cheers!! I got to stand in the front row at one game and I'm pretty sure it was one of the highlights of this semester!! The last couple of home games they handed out blue gloves for the ENTIRE student section to wear. They were so fun and though I didn't think it could be possible it made the crowds clapping even louder!! I LOVE basketball :)
I'm not sure why... just another random night :) But Hannah got us to try to climb up the wall.. I used to do it when i was younger, but it has gotten much more difficult! It was fun and very entertaining!

Mardi Gras!
Utah State put on a Mardi Gras activity, We had a blast! We first went to the mentalist show which blew my mind. Some of his tricks make no sense to me even after hours of contemplating them! He was very good and entertaining... I just wish I knew his tricks. We also went to a Freak Show... never again!! It was a group of people who inflicted pain upon themselves that could have killed them. I don't like pain and we had to sit on the front row... I was traumatized, though I was very impressed. We did have a wonderful time at the activity, however I'm pretty sure we had more fun getting ourselves ready! Luckily we had the amazing Hannah to help out, she painted all of our faces and did a fabulous job!
Sorry Amanda I'm stealing some of your pictures since surprisingly I didn't take any!!
